CLUB STATEMENT

03/09/2024

Earlier this week, the DDYFA issued a statement addressing the abuse directed at referees by teams, coaches, players, and spectators. Due to this mistreatment, some referees are now refusing to officiate DDYFA games. If this behaviour continues, the league we participate in will not have enough referees to cover the games. Without their support, there will be no football for the children to play.

Additionally, there have been reports of inappropriate behaviour by spectators at FACFC games over the past few weeks. As a club, FACFC's main objective is to provide a safe environment and foster a positive culture where children and young people can enjoy playing football. To achieve this, we require everyone involved with the club—whether an official, coach, volunteer, player, parent, or spectator—to uphold our club values and adhere to the Code of Conduct. The club will not tolerate inappropriate or abusive behaviour that creates a risk to the environment that the children play football in and will take necessary actions in response.

Remember that children play football for their own enjoyment, not for your entertainment!

Many thanks,

Mark Litterick
